Apolo Endosurgery The latest in endoscopic treatments is the ENDO-SLEEVE (APOLLO ENDOSURGERY) SURGERY.

This is a new technique which allows performing sutures in the stomach reducing stomach capacity endoscopically. This stomach reduction will induce satiety in the patient after eating a small amount of food.

This is recommended for patients with a weight excess of between 15 and 35kg.

The Apollo method simulates the stomach reduction technique (sleeve gastrectomy) although, thanks to new instrumental, this stomach reduction can now be performed endoscopically (no surgery) with the following advantages:

  • Safer and less invasive for the patient
  • Considerable decrease of infection risks and post-surgery pain
  • Faster recovery of the patient
  • No external scars

Medical risks

Any medical treatment has associated risks, depending on the technique chosen. However, in the case of the endoscopic treatments for obesity, the complications are minimal as they are practically limited to the associated risks to the medicines and the methods used in the surgical procedure and the degree of intolerance of the patient in the first few days after the surgery.

Obesity treatment in SpainMedical check-up

The true success of any treatment for obesity is to make the overweight patient embrace and follow changes in his lifestyle and eating habits, and that is why the selection of the medical team is so important.

Any of the options – Balloon-POSE-Apollo- reduce the stomach capacity in a greater or lesser measure, and this enables the patient to adapt to new eating habits. However, as important as the method, or even more, is the work carried out at the same time with our team of doctors and  dieticians which will help the patient acquire new eating habits with a supervised weight loss programme, including check-ups in order to “train” the patient in eating healthy (control of eating disorders, anxiety, …) in a privileged location as the coast of Almería and Granada, in Andalucía (South of Spain), two top touristic destinations given their infrastructures and services and their cultural and leisure possibilities, including the landscape together with the good weather, characteristic of this area of Spain.

That is why we provide you with personalised weight-loss treatments.

Our objective is that after a pleasant stay, people with overweight problems can get rid of those extra kilos thanks to the treatment, for our medical team and the environment to help the patients to take the overweight problems seriously and thus achieve a change in eating habits and lifestyle in order to lead a healthier lifestyle, leaving renewed both inside and outside, with less weight and a better quality of life.

During the 3 to 6 months after the procedure followed, the patients undergo monthly check-ups with our endrocrinologist, Dr. Francisco Moreno Baró, who, depending on the evolution of the patient, will adapt the dietetic treatment in each case, in order to maximise results. At the same time, during this period, the patient will undergo periodical control ultrasound scans, body composition analysis in order to assess the general health of the patient and the follow-up of the weight loss.

Weight loss depends on many factors, treatment, and degree of implication and commitment of the patient to our follow-up programmes. However, in general terms and regardless of the technique, in our experience all our patients manage to lose between 50 to 65% of their initial weight.

For better results, it is important to follow an eating habits and lifestyle reeducation programme. Our multidisciplinary team, made up by endrocrinologists, nutritionists, digestologists and psychologists will help you lose the weight you need to lose and will provide you with the necessary tools in order not to gain it again.
